Objective
The aim of the Crown and Bridge Prosthetics 1 course is to create a foundation for the student's competence in fixed prosthetics.
The student knows the basics of both manual and digital fixed prosthetics
- diagnostic and design principles of fixed prostheses
- factors affecting the choice of crown type
- factors affecting the prosthetic restoration of a tooth that has undergone endodontic therapy
- significance of the determination of occlusion and temporary crowns
- factors affecting the choice of the shade for a tooth
- basic principles of the manufacture of crowns and bridges in a laboratory
- preparation of the various crown types and veneers
- determining the colors of a tooth
- making an impression and determining the occlusion for fixed prostheses
Content
The course includes three sub-implementations:
a) Stratified plaster designs, crown waxing and casting process, crown finishing (2 credits)
Simulation work
b) CAM design, milling machine operation/maintenance and milling, printing (2 credits)
c) crown and fill design, scanning, milling and machining (4 credits)
- Leucite and lithium disililicate work and workflow
- Post-milling processes
