Objective
POSTPARTUM MIDWIFERY 5 CR SYJÄMidwifery of postpartum woman and neonatal infant 5 cr Objectives: The student shall be able to- plan, implement, document and evaluate the treatment of a postpartum mother and neonatal infant in the delivery and maternity ward- guide, advise and treat a postpartum mother, neonatal infant and the family in special issues relating to the period after parturition- master the monitoring and care of a neonatal infant immediately after parturition- know the monitoring and care of a puerperal mother and neonatal infant- guide and support a puerperal mother in breastfeeding and problems relating to it as well as in rooming-in care- identify postpartum mothers requiring special observation and act in abnormal situations- support the growth into parenthood and the well-being of the family as well as early interaction- monitor and care for a healthy neonatal infant independently- monitor and care for a sick neonatal infant as a member of a multidisciplinary team- provide initial advice to the parents, when the family has a sick, disabled or stillborn child- give breastfeeding guidance according to the principles of breastfeeding training- perform a postnatal examination- understand the mother's psychological processes and support the mother and the family in growth into parenthood.
