Osaamistavoitteet
The course teaches skills and knowledge to plan, prepare, conduct, and report usability and user experience (UX) evaluations. Students learn the theoretical aspects of evaluation methods and their role in the development of interactive systems and part of user-centered design (UCD) tradition. Students learn practical skills how to design and conduct a usability test or other UX evaluation and how to analyze and report its results.

The course is a self-study course, which consists of two compulsory parts:
1. Theoretical part. Reading material about the common practices of usability testing (course book) and about a freely selected method of UX evaluation. Students will answer questions and exercises based on readings.
2. Practical part. Conducting a UX evaluation / usability test for freely selected (software) product with a few potential users. Students will plan the evaluation and report the results as the final work, which is graded. Supervision and feedback in planning and reporting are provided.
