Osaamistavoitteet
The student should after the course be able to -define the expression rheology -describe the differences between a viscous, an elastic and a viscoelastic material -define expressions related to rheology -describe the connection between rheology and microstructure of the material -recognize the most common rheometer types and their basic functioning principles -give practical examples from applications where knowledge on rheology is applied, of importance or where control of rheological properties is important

Background, terminology and fundamentals of rheology, rheological phenomena, relating of rheology to material microstructure, different rheometer types, rheological models, simple data analysis and results treatment, examples from practical applications.

Examination bases on learning objectives. 50-59 % for grade 1, 70-79 % for grade 3 and at least 90 % for grade 5.
