Objective

The student is able to assess and develop patient centered and safe radiography and radiotherapy.

Content

Course contents
- Assessment and development of patient centered care and customer oriented services- Managing health care information systems and developing work flows- Evidence-based patient centered guidance and counselling- Informing the patient and health care staff about safety, risks and radiation protection- Evaluating and developing clinical skills in patient care (e.g. the safe use of contrast and enhancement agents and medication, pain management, emergency care).

Teaching methods

Student learning is based on a research and development approach that emphasizes theoretical as well as practicality.
The student recognizes the need for development according to the themes of the module in his or her own organization. During the studies, the student will systematically seek evidence and research based knowledge to develop his / her own organization.

Evaluation methods and criteria

The assessment is based on learning tasks. It focuses on the student's ability to a) examine clinical radiography in relation to the central concepts of the course b) develop clinical radiography through a systematic literature review. Two tutors of module are responsible for the assessment.
Grade marks until 29.11.

Failed (0)

Based on the learning task student does not adequately deal with the topic and the report is incomplete.

*manages the principles of patient centered ways of working in simple clinical radiography contexts
*manages patient safe practices in clinical radiography
*manages research based evidence practices in simple context of radiography

Based on the learning task student is able to
*manages the principles of patient centered ways of working in clinical radiography contexts
*manages patient safety practices in clinical radiography
*manages research based evidence practices in local environment of clinical radiography

Based on the learning task student is able to
*analyzes practices in clinical radiography by research based evidence
* develops practices in clinical radiography by research based evidence

Qualifications

Röntgenhoitaja (AMK) tai muu soveltuva suomalainen korkeakoulututkinto (amk, yamk, kandidaatti tai maisteri) yhdistettynä aiemmin suoritettuun röntgenhoitajan opistoasteiseen tutkintoon. Edellä mainittuja suomalaisia korkeakoulututkintoja vastaava ulkomainen korkeakoulututkinto yhdistettynä Suomessa voimassaolevaan ammatinharjoittamisoikeuteen tai direktiivitodistukseen.
