Content is separated in three main categories: Modeling, Materials and Animation.

Course starts at 2.9.2020 and last contact session is at 16.12.2020. Totally 15 times. Assignments changes every week and assignments need to be returned before next weeks contact session. Last assignment must be returned before 22.12.2020.

Week 44: Materials - Materials and Lightning (Cycles)
Week 45: Materials - UV map and textures
Week 46: Materials - Texture baking
Week 47: Animation - Animation tools
Week 48: Animation - Animation with bone parenting
Week 49: Animation - Character rigging
Week 50: Animation - Walk cycle
Week 52: Animation - Drivers and shape keys

Tavoitteet

After completing the module, the student is able:
• to utilize basic tools in 3D -modelling and -animation
• to set up lighting in 3D -world
• to texturize 3D -objects
• to understand where to use 3D modelling
• to create 3D content for video games.

Oppimateriaalit

Contact sessions with teacher via Zoom video conferencing platform. Group chat on Itslearning. Video tutorials and assignments shared through itslearning.

Weekly contact sessions with teacher via Zoom (remotely) and weekly assignments.

Tenttien ajankohdat ja uusintamahdollisuudet

No exam dates;
This course does not have any retake possibilities. Failing the course means that students will need to repeat it the following year.

Opiskelijan ajankäyttö ja kuormitus

Two assignments per week. One that is started and guided on contact session via Zoom and other more independent based on weekly topic. Estimated work time is 9 hours every week (4 in contact session and 5 independent work) that make 135 hours total.

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet

Assessment will be based on the individual assignments submitted in the itslearning course platform.

Teacher evaluates the assignments. To pass the course, students are expected to turn in at least 75 % of the assignments. Final grade will be average of assignment grades multiplied by return percent (non-returned assignments are counted as 0).

The average is of the submitted assignments and the submission percentage equals 3-4
The quality of the submitted assignments are good and it is visible that the student has spent the required time with the assingment but the student has not challenged his/her skills or the assignment lacks the final effort to improve it.

The average is of the submitted assignments and the submission percentage equals 5
The quality of the submitted assignments are excellent and it is visible that the student has spent the required time or more with the assingment. The student has challenged his/her skills and researhed more about the topic to improve the end result
