Objective
SURGICAL PATIENT NURSING 8 cr KIHA
Objectives:
The student shall be able to
- learn to plan, implement and evaluate individual patient care and explain his or her actions
- recognise the changes brought about by surgical diseases and injuries in the patient and explain them to him or her and the family members
- learn to apply treatment methods used at surgical units with individual patients
- find ethical solutions in different treatment situations
- guide the patient and his or her family members individually in health promotion, treatment of diseases and rehabilitation
- understand a nurse's responsibility in infection control and care of patient in surgical medicine and act aseptically in different treatment situations.
- improve his or her medicinal treatment competence in nursing in surgical medicine (Medication Passport)
- document information relating to basic surgical nursing of the patient
