Content scheduling

The purpose of studio work is to engage in the analysis of one's own artistic process in relation to other group members and the field of art. The course consists of the student's goal-oriented artistic work and discussions.
During the course he / she prepares a new artistic work, which he presents in the form of an exhibition (HIOSTAMO) in the Köysirata Gallery or in a self-procuring space for the whole group and the instructor. The Gallery is reserved for periods of two weeks starting from January 2021. There will be a maximum of 5 students at a time during the exhibition and the times will be drawn if necessary.
One studio work period is four working weeks and independent artistic work is dimension accordingly. However, it should be noted that the pupil must attend weekly group meetings, lectures and meetings with the teacher. There are independent working periods, small group meetings, obligatory exhibition rounds.

Objective

The students will be able to
• set goals for the artistic work
• develop the techniques and expression of their work
• carry out long-term artistic processes in a methodical and goal-oriented manner
• analyse their own work

Content

Supervised artistic work that may take place in connection with professional studies, other projects, through minor-subject studies under another degree programme or student exchange. The Artistic Work courses I–IV may be integrated into larger entities.

Evaluation methods and criteria

At the end of the course, a joint assessment discussion is held, after which the student reflects on what they have learned in writing. The evaluation focuses on the student's own development and the development of theoretical and practical processes, not the artistic end result.

Tasks have not been done or do not correspond to the assignment and have not participated in joint meetings, lectures, etc.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Student
• is able to apply the given instructions to their own work
• Is able to use key professional concepts and tools and apply them to his / her own expression
• participates dialogically in community interaction situations.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the above, the student
• is able to plan his / her own work and identify the stages of his / her work process
• is able to evaluate and measure the time required for study / job preparation
• works and operates in accordance with ethical and ecological principles
• is able to develop and deepen one's personal expression
• is able to place his work in the broader context and in the field of contemporary art

HIOSTAMO - näyttelysarja KÖYSIRATAGALLERIA

Tammikuu-maaliskuu 2021 kuvataiteen 3vsk kuvan ja valon opiskelijat saavat käyttöönsä Köysiratagalleriasta oman pienen kokeellisen näyttelytilan. n. 5 opiskelijaa kerrallaan. Tila on itsenäinen rajattu tila kunkin tekijän käytössä kahden viikon ajan alkaen v. 2 vuoden 2021 alussa. Tilaan opiskelija tekee juuri sellaisen näyttelyn tai tapahtuman kuin itse haluaa ja niin ammattimaisesti kuin vain kykenee. Vapaamuotoinen keskustelu pidetään sovittuina päivinä mm. ohjaavan opettajan kanssa.( Avajaiset -ei ehkä mahdollista järjestää ) Näyttely avautuu, valvotaan. Näyttelyn purku. Jokainen ryhmä järjestää näyttelynsä itse haluamallaan tavalla, mahdollisimman tinkimättömästi.

Näyttelyiden purku on aina viimeistään pe klo 16 mennessä, jolloin alkaa seuraavan näyttelyn rakentaminen. Tila pitää jäädä tyhjäksi ja kunnostaa tarvittaessa ennen seuraavaa näyttelyä.

Näyttelyn suoritukseen ja kohokohtiin kuuluu osallistuminen keskustelutilaisuuksiin ja ne ovat olennaisena osana Ateljeetyöskentely I, II, III ja IV opintojaksoa. Keskusteluun kutsutaan mukaan myös TY Taide historia ja muita Taideakatemian opiskelijoita sekä mahdollisesti vierailijoita.

Opettajat järjestävät palautekeskustelut HIOSTAMO 1, 2, 3, 4 ja 5. Keskusteluihin osallistuminen on pakollista ja osana kurssia. Oman Hiostamojakson jälkeen opiskelijan oma taiteellinen työskentely jatkuu.
