Objective

On the course, in addition to understanding climate change and the related interactions, learning also focuses on becoming aware of different attitudes and ways of thinking.
The course is part of the CDIO-framework that is guiding the studies at Turku University of Applied Sciences as on the course the students learn more about how climate change is linked to the students’ own fields of study. Additionally, on the course the students will learn more about sustainable development.
After the course, the student will:
- understand climate change as a scientific phenomenon
- learn how climate change can be prevented
- learn how adaptation to it is possible
- understand that climate chance is a global challenge
- understand that climate change is also an ethical challenge to our understanding of human life
- understand how climate change is linked to the students’ own fields of study
- learn about the students’ personal roles as influencers

Content

Climate.now is a multidisciplinary study and teaching module on the basics of climate change. It consists of written material, video lectures and assignments that will help anyone familiarize themselves with the basics of the climate change.

As this is an online course based on tasks:
- You don't have the possibility to raise your final grade or a grade for an individual task.

You need to do the tasks by deadline.

Content scheduling

Climate.now is mainly done online, but we also have meetings on the campus.These meetings are for interaction and asking about the tasks (like clinics).

The course starts 10.1.2022 and ends 11.3.2022. You are supposed to dedicate all Mondays to this course. There are tasks to do online for each Monday.

Additionally you have meetings. These are not lectures. They are specific meetings where you can ask more about the course and tasks.
