The course is completed online according to students' own time schedule. Maximum duration 6 months.

Objective

After completing the course the student can:

Describe what technologies and concepts such as Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality(VR) and Augment Reality (AR) are, and how they can help our life and create opportunities for innovations.s
Create an innovation proposal utilizing digital technologies.

Content

Introduction to digitalisation and digital transformation.
IoT, AI, AR, VR, Big Data, Cloud Services and other digital technologies.

Note: there exists the course TT00BG06 Introduction to Digitalisation (5 ECTS). If you have taken that course already you should not participate in this course!

Materials

Material (videos, articles, etc) from the internet, available via the learning environment (ITS).
All the assignments are done in the learning environment (ITS).

Teaching methods

Online collaboration in the learning environments and independent self-study and working with assignments.
Tests are used for each studied subject to verify students' learning outcomes.

Pedagogic approaches and sustainable development

The course provides an understanding of digital technologies.
Students work both individually and collaborate virtually in the learning environment.
Students read material and watch videos and then complete automatically assessed assignments for the studied subjects.
Students also create an innovation proposal where digital technology is used.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Approved:
Student has completed all the course assignments
AND achieved at least 70% of the points in the assignments.
