Content of this course:

-The theoretical background and main principle of upstream and downstream processes
-The related equipments and techniques of bioprocesses
-Focus will be on biopharmaceuticals and proteins for diagnostics

-A protein will be produced, purified and assayed in laboratory works (laboratory part)

Evaluation scale

H-5

Assessment methods and criteria

Final grade is based on the theoretical part (60%) and laboratory part (40%).

Grading of theoretical part:

USP pair assignment: 0-2 points
DSP pair assignment: 0-2 points
Protein purification simulation (pair assignment): 0-2 points
Reflective report (individual assignment): 0-5 points

All assignments need to be returned in time and approved.
The grading is based on teacher assessment and / or peer review. A more detailed description is given in ItsLearning platform.
Points are translated to number (F - 5)

Grading of laboratory part is based on laboratory work, results and report.

Assessment criteria, fail (0)
