Main marketing terms, models and other theoretical background will be learned with the help of the chosen course book, other materials chosen by the tutor teacher for the tutorials as well as by the independent information search of the students. The application of the theoretical knowledge to the working life project occurs by independent information search, team work, tutorials and benchmarking. The exam the 13th November will be a group exam (same groups as in project work). Both theoretical knowledge and ability to apply is needed to pass the exam.
Timetable for contact lessons: see Optima - at top of the page you can find the schedule.
Deadlines:
Project plan of each project group to be returned to the team folder at Optima on Thursday 21st Sep.(regarding content of the project plan see oppimistapahtumat / learning evenst 19.9.)
Summaries of individual information search (main findings summarised in a individual learning report) e.g. in form of a Power point or word document to be returned into Optima 18.9., 3.10.,19.10. and 26.10. The chairs and secretaries of each tutorial group will make based on these summaries and discussions during the tutorial a concluding document of the tutorial, the so called "lessons learned" document which will be returned into Optima team folder (22.9., 10.10., 26.10. and 2.11.) and taken into account when continuing the project work.
Short oral presentations on the progress of the project work by each team 9.10. and 23.10.2017
Final report on project results/outcomes in a usable form for the project client (e.g. a word dokument, a recorded power point, a video or a combination of several file types) to be returned into Optima 5.12.2017.

Opetusmenetelmät
The aim is that the students assimilate the core marketing concepts - both traditional and modern approaches -, but also apply and utilize the theoretical knowledge in real working life context, thus adding value to the development process of the organisation, which is their "project client". The clients will give some basic information on their product and the students´ task is to create a reasonable (preliminary) marketing plan for the product (see outcomes above). The students will work in mixed (Finnish students + exchange students) groups of approximately 5 - 6 persons.
The course implementation includes :
* contact lessons/workshops each week
* team work each week agreed day (monday) and during contact lessons
* independent individual learning (remote work)
* tutorials (see separate instructions at Optima, minimum attendance 3 tutorials, all independent learning reports have to be returned), presentations and a group exam during contact lessons.
