Content scheduling

Content:
In the course, the requirements of resource-efficient production are covered.
- unit operations
- material and heat transfer equipment and processes
- material balance, material flow and heat transfer calculations
- design and sizing of unit operations

Start:
Corse starts on Tuesday 5.9.2023 at 14:00
and Fridays from 8.9.2023 at 08:00.
Weeks 36-51

Objective

Having completed the study unit, the participants are able to
- Calculate and scale simple material and heat transfer processes
- Describe equipment and technologies required in unit operations and unit processes as well as in heat and material transfer processes
- Tell about special characteristics of different processes in chemical engineering and choose and scale equipments for processes.

Content

In the course the students deepen their knowledge in processes and phenomenonin biotechnology materials, and foodengineering
- Material flow calculations
- Heat transfer calculations
- Material and heat transfer equipment and processes

Lecture material is submitted in ITS-Learning environment

Teaching methods

The course consists of lectures and home work.

Exam schedules

Unit processes exam
Flow technology and material balances exam
Retake exams on EE technology exam days, which are announced at the beginning of the course in the learning environment.

International connections

Technologies will be studied during lectures, by individual learning and by calculating basic practical examples. The implementations is about to be tranferred into a web-based course. This means that part of the course can be based on individual.
Implementation as present education. No distance learning opportunities.

Work load consists of lectures, calculations, individual working and exams.
