Teaching methods
The purpose is to familiarize yourself with the practical work in one's field of expertise in a company operating in the field. Through the internship, you will familiarize yourself with practical tasks that are central to the profession, where you can apply the knowledge and skills you acquired earlier in your studies.
Exam schedules
The course cannot be completed with an exam, and re-exams are not organized.
International connections
Before starting an internship, you should find out whether a certain task or job description is suitable for professional internship. If this is the case, an internship contract will be drawn up for the job, which will be signed by the instructor from Turkuamki, the instructor at the workplace and the student.
During the internship, the student writes an internship diary or report about the workplace and his own work tasks during the internship. A work certificate, the internship agreement and an internship report are returned for the internship. In addition to that, an internship seminar is held where the student talks about his/her internship and his/her duties there.
Completion alternatives
There is no optional method to pass this course.
Student workload
The learning task is to get to know what engineers in the field do in their work and what kind of companies they work for. The company's organization, size, turnover, most important products and customers are investigated.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
The internship is approved when the student has worked at least 270 h and submitted the required documents.
Content scheduling
Professional training at OPS is scheduled for the spring or summer of the third year of study, but it can also be completed at any other time, as the progress of studies is often individual.
