Objective

Healthcare work of a family with children 3 cr LATE
- apply his or her knowledge to monitoring the child's growth and development and supporting the child as an individual, family member and representative of his or her own culture
- work in co-operation with families and different stakeholder groups to maintain and promote a safe growth environment
- apply his or her knowledge in supporting parenthood in the different stages of the family's development
- carry out prevention of communicable diseases, and master inoculations
- carry out family education

- evaluate the significance of work, work environment and unemployment to a person and his or her well-being
- support the work and functional capacity of a person in working age as well as well-being at work, and work multiprofessionally with the person in working age and

Content

Healthcare work of a family with children 3 cr LATE
Contents:
- the principles guiding child health clinic operations
- resource-oriented parental support of the child and family in the child's different development stages
- the growth and development of a child under 7 years of age and regular health monitoring
- monitoring of the child's eyesight and hearing
- nutrition of suckling and preschool-aged child
- special issues relating to child nutrition (constipation, diarrhoea)
- vaccination programme and vaccinating
- special issued relating to children's development (such as bedwetting, retarded development, eating disorders, anomalies in speech development etc.)
- stages of sexuality
- multiprofessional co-operation
