Objective

NURSING IN BASIC HEALTH CARE 8 ECTS PETHA

Objectives:
Students will
• Gain proficiency in planning, providing and evaluating customer-centred care and guidance (e.g. in palliative care, treatment of the developmentally disabled and disabled, home care, hospital at home activities, etc.) at public and private health centres and in various projects
• Learn to help and support people dealing with acute and long-term health changes and will become aware of their own resources and limits of competence
• Learn to plan and provide guidance related to the promotion of health
• Be able to establish a good nurse-patient relationship in various work environments
• Learn to work in multiprofessional work groups
• Commit themselves to entrepreneurial activities in various learning environments
• Learn to apply evidence-based information and use it to perform and develop nursing
• Deepen their pharmacotherapy competence in different fields of nursing (medication passport)

Content

Contents:
• Key nursing activities according to the learning environment and the needs of the patients/customers
• Clinical examination performed on real patients/customers
• The fundamentals of empowering patient counselling with patients/customers and their family members
• Provision of evidence-based nursing and counselling services
• Structure of the social and health service system, service guidance with customers/patients and their family members
• More profound skills in pharmacotherapy and fluid therapy
