Tavoitteet
After completing the course the student is able to
- distinguish between the competitive requirements in international business vs. domestic business
- evaluate market opportunities for international business
- describe various business strategies when entering and operating in international business
- understand the requirements for marketing in the international business environment
- understand cultural differences in international business

This course is completed through assignments and there is no exam.

5 cr = 135 hours of student work.
Individual and group assignments will be outlined during the course.
Contact lessons 4 x 3h.

The subject is covered through PESTEL analysis (Political, Economic, Sociocultural, Technological, Environmental, Legal).
Among other things, these issues are discussed:
- Finnish foreign trade
- BRICS countries
- Competitive requirements in international business / preconditions for export
- Entry strategies
- Risk management
- Doing business in the EU
- Incoterms, terms of payment

Arviointimenetelmät ja arvioinnin perusteet
The assignments will be outlined during the course.
Missing a deadline equals 0 points.
The overall grade will decrease by one grade, if a student is absent for more than two lectures.
The in-text references and list the references at the end of the assignment in alphabetical order by author needs to be always written in the assignments. In case of plagiarism, student will get 0 points.

The student shows some difficulties in applying his/her knowledge and understanding of the course content. The student demonstrates little ability to gather and interpret relevant data to inform judgments that include reflection about what is asked for the assignments. The student has difficulties in communicating his/her ideas in writing to the reader. Some parts of the text are unclear.
