Objective

Objectives
• Know how to determine the patient’s need for anaesthetic nursing, to plan and administer care and evaluate its effectiveness
• Become familiar with various forms of anaesthetics and gain more knowledge on anaesthetic pharmacotherapy
• Knows the safe dosage of anaesthetic medication and their key effects, indications, contraindications, side and adverse effects
• Gain the competence to perform anaesthetic nursing
• Learn about the airway management of patients using various equipment
• Learn about the controlled ventilation of patients, the settings of respirators and the monitoring and interpretation of parameters
• Deepen their skills in monitoring vital signs and maintaining them during anaesthesia, as well as in reacting to changes in the patient’s condition
• Learn about care technology used in operating rooms
• Know how to document and report on the treatment of patients during the anaesthetic treatment process
• Learn about the postoperative care of patients in the recovery room and know the criteria for transferring the patient to the inpatient ward
• Learn to interact with, help and provide guidance to patients of different ages during treatment
• Learn to apply information from nursing science and other related sciences and use it to perform and develop nursing
• Students will learn to analyse how their own values and attitudes influence their interaction with patients of different ages and their professional interaction

Content

Contents:
• Definition of the needs of a patient’s anaesthetic nursing, planning and performance of care and assessment of the effectiveness of care
• Various methods of anaesthetic and pharmacotherapy relevant to anaesthetic nursing
• Safe dosage of anaesthetic medication and their key effects, indications, contraindications, side and adverse effects
• Anaesthetic nursing
• Airway management of patients using various equipment
• Controlled ventilation of patients, the settings of respirators and the monitoring and interpretation of parameters
• Monitoring vital signs and maintaining them during anaesthesia, reacting to changes in the patient’s condition
• Technology used in operating rooms
• Patient documentation and reporting in accordance with the anesthesia nursing process
• Postoperative care of patients in the recovery room and transfer to the inpatient ward
• Encountering, helping and guidance of patients of various ages during care
• Application of information from nursing science and other related sciences and using it to perform and develop nursing
• The influence of values and attitudes in encountering patients of different ages and in professional interaction.
