Kliininen kemia 1 opintojakson teoriaosuus on 2 op laajuinen. Opintojakson laboraatioharjoitukset (Clinical chemistry I) 2 op sisältyvät opintojaksoon Basics of Clinical Laboratory Work 2.

Kliininen kemia 1 toteutuksella on kolme sisältöteemaa:
1) Mittavälineet ja kemikaaliturvallisuus
2) Ilmamäntäpipetit
3) Spektrofotometria

Objective

The student is able to work safely, ergonomically and take into account the safety of the work community and the environment in clinical laboratory work. The student knows how to name the most common measuring instruments and knows their purposes. The student masters the reliable use of an air piston pipette and a scale. The student knows how to handle chemicals safely. The student knows the structure, operating principle and key concepts of a spectrophotometer. The student can determine the concentration of the analyte by spectrophotometric endpoint measurement.

- Conversion of absorbance to concentration

Teaching methods

Opintojaksolla työskennellään itsenäisesti verkossa. Jokaiseen teemaan sisältyy itsenäistä opiskelua ja tehtäviä itsissä sekä laboraatioharjoitukset opetuslaboratoriossa. Teeman sisällöt tulee olla aina huolellisesti opiskeluina ja tehtävät tehtyinä ennen kyseistä laboraatioharjoitusta.

Student workload

Opintokokonaisuuden 4 op (teoria + lab) laskennallinen työmäärä opiskelijalle on 108 tuntia. Näistä 22 tuntia on lähiopetusta (infotunti + laboraatiot) ja loput 86 tuntia itsenäistä työskentelyä. Lukujärjestyksestä on varattu itsenäiselle työskentelylle 44 tuntia.
