Objective

After completing the course, the student:
- knows the main points of the planning process of renovation construction
- understand the most commonly used materials, construction methods and styles from different eras
- understand the difference between condition assessment and condition survey research
- Identify the most common repair methods
- Identify and know settings for harmful substances

- special features of renovation
- renovation permit requirements and regulations
- the process of a renovation project
- condition assessment and condition survey
- the most common renovation projects: pipe rehabilitation, facade repair, moisture damage repair and change of use
- harmful substances and procedures of asbestos survey
- moisture- and dust control
- materials from different eras and aging / damage of materials
