Content scheduling

The aim of the course is to strengthen student’s basic knowledge of Finnish language and to develop language skills. You must have at least A1 level Finnish language skills to participate in the course.

The aim of the course is to reach Finnish language level A2 (CEFR).

The course consists lessons at Kupittaa campus. In addition, students must study the language independently in order to reach the target language level A2.

The contents of the course are
- reading and writing professional texts
- practising everyday and work-related conversational situations
- familiarising oneself with the basic vocabulary of one's profession
- practising Finnish grammar

Objective

The objectives of the course is that thestudent should gain a basic level of Finnish language (CEFR level A2.1)The student is able to intract in a social context and is able to tell about his or her life and living environment.

Content

After passing the course the student is able totalk about his os her own life and issuesconnected to it. Furthermore, he orshe is able to participate in a general discussion and understand the main points of the discussion.gain new knowledge on familiar issues understand the context in short texts e.g. user instructions and newsin writing describe events in his or her personal life, living environment and education.

Task-based, group work, pair work, independent work at home.

Exam schedules

Working on the contact lessons at campus in groups and independently, active practice in Itslearning, cultural sustainability.

Student workload

Written and oral exercises in class and independently at home.
