Objective

After completing the course, the student is able to
• state key journalistic news criteria
• brainstorm journalistic stories
• prepare functional interview questions and conduct a technically successful interview and deconstruct it into text
• write a news item
• name different types of journalistic stories
• act responsibly in the news production team and understand the roles of the editorial staff
• assess one's own and others' competence and develop its operations based on feedback
• comply with the principles of professional ethics and the Guidelines for Journalists in their work

Content

The students learn the news criteria, the special characteristics and structure of the language of the written news, and also familiarise themselves with other types of journalistic texts. Brainstorming and writing news stories and giving feedback on these. Practice working in the editorial office and working in a team. Follow the Guidelines for Journalists in the story process.
