Objective
The students will be able to
• gain an overview of the history of Western art as well as art research and interpretation
• incorporate historical traditions, themes and phenomena in art in their own work.
• name and apply the basic concepts of art philosophy.
• apply different modes of art discourse in their own work.
Content
• History of Western Art The students will be introduced to the development and main themes and phenomena in Western art.
• Introduction to Philosophy of Art. The students will learn about philosophical discourse on art and its interpretation.
