Objective

The students will be able to
• form an informed idea on which to base the development of their art and the assessment of their own artistic processes, based on a dialogue between art and research
• form a view on basic ethical and aesthetic questions, concepts and methods
• assess and analyse their own artistic processes
• give and receive constructive and analytical feedback

Content

On this course, the students will focus on the basics of academic research, the research process and writing academic text. The students will learn about the concepts and methods of art research, image analysis as well as the potential of art research. The students will gain the necessary skills for critical interpretation and analysis of art and media imagery The students will also deepen their skills in evaluating and analysing the visual culture.
The studies are completed according to implementation plan through exercises, lecture journals, essays and/or exams, and by attended contact teaching sessions, instruction, artist introductions, lectures and/or excursions.
