Bachelor’s Thesis Plan 4 ECTS
The study unit includes 2 ECTS of studies arranged in English
Objectives
Students will:
• Understand the nature and process of health care development, health care research
Gain proficiency in searching for information and critical evaluation of information
• Know how to create a working life-oriented research and development plan
• Know how to create releases and other documents required in research and development projects
• Know how to act as a nursing expert in various working life-oriented research and development projects
• Be able to recognize the need for counselling and know how to apply counselling in a manner that supports their thesis
• Know how to present their progress as well as to give and receive constructive feedback
• Present the plan of the thesis and serve as an opponent to another student’s thesis as agreed

• Learning about the thesis process
• Selecting and defining a working life-oriented topic
• Establishing the theoretical background
• Defining the purpose and objective of the thesis and asking guiding questions
• Choosing a method of implementation
• Presenting a written plan and serving as an opponent to another student’s work as agreed
Materials
Using the literature of research methodology Messi's instructions on how to do the thesis, from the beginning of the ITS thesis.
Teaching methods
Project work, development and research work independently as well as in a group and with a couple/working group
Exam schedules
No exams
Thesis planning seminar on the week 11.
International connections
Group supervision at the campus containing private supervision of each thesis.
Compulsory bachelor's thesis seminars at the campus.
Completion alternatives
No other options.
Students who have an academic degree can apply for compensation.
Student workload
The scope of the course is 4 ECTS, and is related to the online studies of research, development and innovation studies that have started above, as well as to the reporting and maturity sample course of the thesis that will start later.
The thesis is done as a pair work (individual work in a special situation)
The thesis is presented and opponed in a plan seminar. The thesis progresses to the implementation stage based on the feedback received in the seminar and steering discussions.

The topic of the thesis is related to an area that is significant for nursing, which allows the student to deepen their understanding and competence in this area.
