Content scheduling

You can participate in the course once you have successfully completed the Basic Studies and Basic Practical Training (MIHA) in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Work.
The course focuses on the themes of mental health and substance abuse work.
The course includes the following themes:
- The importance of well-being at work in supporting mental health
- Suicidal customer
- Minority and particularly vulnerable persons
- International and national topical methods and projects in mental health, RDI integration
- Advanced competence in mental health and substance abuse work for people of different ages
The course is implemented based on weekly changing themes. The course also includes independent study.
The course is implemented entirely zoom.

Objectives

Student
• advances their competence in the treatment of mental health and substance abuse patients
• increases their knowledge about mental health and substance abuse work requiring special expertise
• knows the key treatment methods needed in demanding mental health and substance abuse care work and how to create a safe care environment
• knows how to use work guidance as a method that supports professional growth and mental health and substance abuse nursing skills.
• is familiar with various national and international projects and strategies promoting mental health.

• The significance of well-being at work in supporting mental health
• Special issues related to substance abuse work
• Minorities and particularly vulnerable persons
• Relevant international and national methods related to mental health
• Health technology in supporting the mental health of the population

Materials

Opintojaksoon ei kuulu varsinaista oppikirjaa. Käytössä ajantasaiset verkkomateriaalit sekä opettajan materiaali ITS:ssä.

Teaching methods

Me-We-Us method.
With the help of preliminary assignments, the student becomes familiar with the topic being discussed. In the classes, the topic is first reflected on in small groups and then with the whole group
