Objective
ADVANCED PERIOPERATIVE NURSING STUDY UNIT, 5 ECTS PESY
Objectives
Students will
• Become familiar with the special characteristics of the anaesthesia and surgery of patients from different patient groups
• Know how to act in the different roles of nurses in a surgical team
• Become familiar with different surgical methods applied in the treatment of surgical patients
• Become familiar with common anaesthetics and anaesthetic methods and the related dosage calculation methods
• Know any rare reactions and complications related to anaesthesia
• Know how to perform massive fluid therapy and blood transfusion during surgery
• Know how to perform perioperative nursing on infectious patients
• Know how to alleviate the pain of surgical patients
• Master aseptic techniques in perioperative nursing
• Know how to apply their evidence-based operations to develop perioperative nursing
• Know how to ensure patient safety in perioperative nursing and the related reporting procedures
• Know how to document and report perioperative nursing procedures
• Know how to act professionally and collegially in a surgical team and gain proficiency in evaluating their own activities by accepting and giving feedback as a member of the team
• Know how to pay attention to economics and ecology
