Objective
- you understand the concepts of social inclusion and community, and the important role they play in people’s well-being
- you know how to promote a sense of community and the inclusion of individuals and groups through different methods
- you are able to view individuals as part of their social network and living environment and use the resources of the network for the benefit of the client
- you know how to perform advocacy in collaboration with residents and clients
- you are familiar with municipalities’ and organisations’ activities to promote health and well-being and to prevent problems related to them, and you know how to use these services

- the levels of social inclusion
- the ways citizens, municipality residents, clients and social service workers can engage in advocacy
- a social pedagogical approach, social inclusion and exclusion
- participatory and collaborative methods such as art-based participatory methods and social network mapping

Students write a blog-post from the content of the lectures. The blog-post is written by pairs and it will be evaluated as pass /fail.

Blog: approved / have to complete
Project: failed /1-5. Active participation required. The assessment of the course is based on self- and peer-review. Fill out the self-assessment form found in Itslearning no later than 29.10. and do a peer review no later than 7.11.25. More detailed instructions can be found in Itslearnig.
All the Lecture assinments need to be returned in by 7.11.2025.

Student has not returned the individual assignments by the end of the course.
Project failed.
