Content scheduling
Contact hours (1 info hour + 3 lecture hours), independent online study (20 hours), and written output (20 hours) according to the Its instructions. The course content includes familiarization with the concepts and ethics of health promotion from both nursing and midwifery perspectives.
Objective
The students will be able to:
· Describe a health-based approach as the basis for nursing and midwifery
· Describe current challenges related to the health and well-being of the population
· Outline the whole set of health and social services and the meaning of legislation that guides services
· Search for information and guide clients in different life situations to social and health care services
· Recognise the importance of multi-professionalism from the perspective of service needs
· Describe the principles of sustainable development, taking into account ecological, economic, social and cultural sustainability, and the capital they generate

• Health orientation in midwife work, health and health orientation as concepts, inclusion, empowerment, resource orientation and midwives as health promoters
• Customer-oriented social and health services, health and well-being of the population (current challenges and factors affecting them)
• Promoting health and functional capacity, and preventing illnesses and accidents
• The social and health care system and itsdevelopment, financing, responsibilities, supervision and customer/patient rights
• Social and health care services and directing customers to them
• Sustainable activities in midwifery work, subareas of sustainable development: ecological sustainability, economic sustainability, social sustainability, cultural sustainability
