Objective

Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija osaa:
- tuottaa luettavaa ja sujuvaa tekstiä.
- hyödyntää tietolähteitä opinnäytetyöskentelyssään.
- laatia raportin opinnäytetyöstään.
- toimia eettisesti ja laillisesti oikein hakiessaan sekä käyttäessään tietoa.
- arvioida tietolähteiden luotettavuutta.

The course covers the basic skills of research communication and goes through the thesis process.

Student workload

The course schedule will be published in Itslearning. Instruction in Finnish and instruction in English in alternate weeks. Typically, the course has 13 sessions (1 x kickoff to the course, 6 x classes in English, 6x classes in Finnish)
Contact classes: 2 x 14h = 28h (14h in Finnish, 14 h in English)
Students' own work : 31h
Students can attend either Finnish or English or both language sessions. However, it is recommended that they attend the classes in the language in which they will write their thesis.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

Approved: active attendance of at least 5 Research Communication lessons, attendance of at least 2 Thesis seminars, and a thesis plan. Active attendance is demonstrated by taking the lesson quizzes and completing at least two assignments. Lesson quizzes are active during the class; assignments have a longer deadline.
Failed: Less than 5 active attendances Research Communication lessons and/or less than 2 attendances Thesis seminars and/or thesis plan not completed.
