Objective

After completing the course, the student will be able to:

Develop their own and others' skills related to work
Apply principles of personnel management in the workplace
Apply legislation related to employment relationships in the workplace
Solve personnel-related issues within the work community

Content

Core aspects of personnel management
Practices of competence management
Core aspects of labor law and occupational safety legislation
Supervisor's role in resolving personnel issues within the work community

Materials

Literature in Itslearning and self-selected materials.

Teaching methods

Expert presentations, discussions and small group reflections in Zoom, group work and independent studying.

Sustainable development is included in the selection of learning materials and in the consideration of social sustainability in the assignments.

The course has three assessed learning assignments:
1) Preliminary assignment, will be published in Its (see schedule above)
2) Individual assignment, learning diary, see instructions on Its
3) Group assignment, will be published in Its at the first online meeting

Evaluation methods and criteria

Successful completion of the course requires passing all learning tasks (3) on time and sufficient participation in meetings and group work.
- The assessment will be based on the pre-assignment (Pass/fail), group work (50%) and individual assignment (50%).
- The use of artificial intelligence varies depending on the learning tasks. Instructions on its use are provided in the course, task-specific.
- Attendance requirement for at least 50% of online meetings and active participation in the group work
- The course will be assessed with a grade of 1-5 / Fail

Assessment criteria

PRELIMINARY ASSIGNMENT: The teacher evaluates the assignment on a scale of PASS/FAIL.

INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT: The teacher evaluates the assignment on a scale of 1-5/FAIL.

GROUP ASSIGNMENT: The teacher evaluates the implementation, the grade of which (1-5/FAIL) The entire group receives the same grade.

In the assessment of the group work presentation, attention is also paid to the following points, in addition to those mentioned in the section on grades below:
- The oral expression is clear
- The visual appearance of the presentation is perceptual
- The presentation conveys the work input of each group member

The learning assignment shows that the student/group
has not invested in the task, and there are significant shortcomings

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The learning assignment shows that the student/group has learned concepts and definitions, but has not formed an overall picture of the theme of the course, and/or is not ready to apply things in practice.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The learning assignment shows that the student/group presents a coherent overall picture of the issue and demonstrates that he or she is already able to apply the course content in practice.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The learning assignment shows that the student/group places the course material in a broader context and within the framework of their previous knowledge, demonstrates that they are able to apply information and evaluate its significance, has formed their own understanding of the course theme, and examines matters analytically from several different perspectives.
