Objective

After completion of the study unit the student is able to

- use established terminology while discussing research
- formulate a research objective based on the existing knowledge and the need for new knowledge arising from current practical situation
- design a research setting which enables a reliable way of solving the research problem
- edit the acquired material to be analyzed
- design a logical continuum for the research report
- recognize the basic analytical methods and knows where to find information on how to complete an analysis

Content

- definition of the research problem/task
- different research settings
- theory model/measuring model as prerequisite for material gathering
- alternatives and methods for material gathering in empirical research
- questionnaires and theme interviews
- alternative ways to utilize research material to produce analysises
- useful sources of information on analysises

The exercises and activity makes 50% of the evaluation and the exam is the rest. All exercises and the exam have to be passed in order to pass the course.
