Objective
The student becomes familiar with the properties of common types of structural steelwork as well as the applications and dimensioning thereof.
Content
Steel as a construction material, steel products. Classification of cross-sections and buckling. Flexural dimensioning, lateral buckling resistance. Dimemsioning of structural member under tension. Dimensioning of cross-sections for combined stresses. Dimensioning of structural element under compression and bending for planar buckling. Screw and weld connections
