Objective

Women’s Care and Midwifery 5 cr
Objectives
- Students will learn to identify individual, cultural and environmental factors affecting the health of women of different ages.
- Students will learn to promote women’s health and social well-being and understand the importance of women’s health to the health of their families.
- Students will learn to recognise their own values and attitudes and understand their influence on their actions.
- Students will understand the importance of culture and cultural diversity in midwifery.
- Students will know how to work with individuals and families from different cultural backgrounds.
- Students will master the treatment process of gynaecological patients.
- Students will learn to anticipate and analyse changes in a woman’s health, and take the necessary multiprofessional measures.
- Students will learn to adhere to the values and ethical principles of midwifery.
- Students will learn to provide customer-driven family planning guidance to women and their partners.

Sexual and Reproductive Health throughout a Woman’s Life Cycle
- Health risks, problems and midwifery in the life cycle of women
- Woman- and family-oriented approach
- Diversity of families
- Professional values, ethical guidelines and principles of midwifery and adherence to them
- Cultural factors related to the sexual and reproductive health of individuals, families and society
- Cultural sensitivity in midwifery
- Cultural resources and challenges in women’s care
- Ethical conflicts in midwifery

Gynaecological Midwifery
- Gynaecological care environments and paths
- Special features of the treatment process of gynaecological patients
- Gynaecological disorders and their treatment
- Childlessness and its treatment
- Miscarriage and abortion and related treatment
- Clinical competence in the care of gynaecological patients
- Gynaecology and endocrinology

Family Planning
- Determination of the need for pregnancy prevention and contraceptive methods
- Prevention of venereal diseases
