In Optima

Teaching methods

The whole course is running in Optima, TUAS's virtual learning environment.

Objectives of the course:

The tasks, cases and tests will guide the students to the knowledge of good practice of physiotheray among people with PD. After completing the course student can explain different aspects of functional impairments and restrictions in people with PD. Also, assessment and management will be introduced with evidence-based view through European PT guideline for the PD. In order to fully take an advantage of assessment tools available, one needs to also know specific psychometrics of tools being used. Students will take a glimpse on that also during the course. Although Esa fully understands that not all the students in the course will be physiotherapy students, all the students will also take look into planning the actual physiotherapy. Students will also get a introduction to ICF, International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, the framework which is applied in this course.
