Objective

The student will be able to recognise drivers and factors impacting ones overall well-being and career. The student will be able to recognise financial potential of one's athlete career and he understands the essentials of sport business planning for his own career. The student is able to develop a personal marketing or communication plan and he understands the opportunities and expectations of partnerships.

Content

This module introduces basic management and sponsorship agreements, the added value generated to both parties. The student gets familiar with the rights and obligations of the contracting parties. Additionally, new revenue creation opportunities of the athlete, the athlete company and taxation issues will be discussed.

Location and time

Non-stop implementation. Students can complete the course according to their own schedule.

The Finnish Olympic Committee booklet "Kehity huippu-urheilijaksi" and other material distributed during the course

Teaching methods

Online non-stop implementation on the Moodle platform, video lectures, reading and learning assignments, learning diary.

Qualifications

The module can be included to elective studies in every Degree Programme at JAMK but must be approved by the tutor teacher or study coordinator before starting them. The student can choose to take 1-3 courses from the module and they should be completed in the recommended order.
