Objective
After the course the students: - know the theory behind the basic pathological concepts such as adaptation, cell injury, inflammation and neoplasia. - recognize the basic pathological lesions such as adaptation, cell injury, inflammation and neoplasia in histological tissue samples. - know the very basics of neuroanatomy and brain cell types - know the basics of most common neurodegenerative diseases and neoplasia in the brain - know the species-specific differences in the manifestation of the basic pathological lesions (mouse versus human) - understand how mouse can be applied in modelling human diseases. - are able to produce comparative disease model pathology material based on given virtual microscopy samples.
Methods of completion
Online course for 5 weeks Online course for 5 weeks. Structured learning activities include on-line videos, individual virtual microscopy and on-line exercises. During the course an individual learning diary is built by the student. Also, included learning activity is peer-reviewing a student friends learning. There are no obligatory face-to-face teaching activities during the course. However, there are deadlines for assignments every week. Online final examination is included.
Methods of completion
Approved online exercises and final examination
