Content scheduling

After the course student is able to understand usage of big data in business context and is able to analyze the usage of big data in target companies. Student understand how bid data is helping in decision making.

Objective

After completing the course the student has general understanding of the uses of big data in business and marketing. In addition, he/she is able to analyze how businesses perform big data analysis for marketing.

- most common uses of big data in business and marketing
- frequent applications of big data analysis in both B2C and B2B markets

Teaching methods

Contact lessons and lectures, group work

Pedagogic approaches and sustainable development

Reading litterature. small group works, lectures, writing report, writing a reflection

Student workload

Individual task: Reading a book and writing a reflection. Grade: fail/pass
Group work: Sales presenation of a target company big data usage and written raport based on findings Grade: 0-5
Also small group peer evaluation will be done

Evaluation methods and criteria

Individual task: Book reflection deadline 30.9.2018
Group assignment: finalized report deadline 2.12.2018

There are 50 seats reserved for this course. Please note that 25 seats are reserved for exchange students from our partner universities. They will be able to register only after their arrival at TUAS in late August.
