Objective

After this course, the student will be able to
- describe and understand the internal and external factors that shape consumer behaviour and consuming;
- define and understand the basic concepts and theories about consumer behaviour and consumer culture;
- recognize and analyze information about consumers and consuming;
- recognize and envision future trends;
- interpret and apply consumer knowledge when making marketing decisions.

Materials

Lecture slides and other materials will be shared in Itslearning.

Teaching methods

Contact and/or distance teaching; personal and group assignments (pre-, post- and during lectures); learning checks; learning diary.

Student workload

5 ECTS equals about 135 hours of work. This work consist of lectures, pre- and post-assignments, studying independently and writing the learning diary.

Evaluation methods and criteria

Evaluation will be based on learning checks, assignment(s), learning diary, returning given tasks in time and following the instructions, and participating lectures.

The final grade is a weighted average calculated as follows:
- participating the lectures 20 %
- learning checks 20%
- assignment(s) 20 %
- learning diary 40 %

Also, to pass the course all the following conditions must be met:
- participation rate must be at least 75 %
- at least 75 % of the total of learning checks must be attended and passed
- at least 75 % of the assignments must be returned and passed.
- learning diary is returned and passed.

The contents of the course, assignments, instructions etc. are presented more thoroughly on the first lecture. The first lecture will be face-to-face.
