Objective

After completing the course the student
-can perform basic calculations of ship stability, both deterministic and probabilistic,
-can perform basic calculations of ship motions and seakeeping predictions and relate them to floatability and stability in still water,
-can perform basic design operations with Finite Element Method on a structural detail in a ship.

Content

Probabilistic methods in ship stability.
Principles of safety and seakeeping for marine design work .
Basics of FEM in shipbuilding.
