Content scheduling

This course is mainly done online, but we also have meetings on the campus.These meetings are for our guests to tell you more about climate change and their activities on it.

The course starts 9.1.2023 and ends 10.3.2022. You are supposed to dedicate all Thursdays to this course.

The course can be done fully in English and also you can choose to do it in Finnish (however then you also have some of the materials in English).

Objective

After the course, the student will:
- understand how climate change can be prevented in practice through the presentations given by companies, cities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- understand how adaptation to it is possible through the presentations given by companies, cities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- be able to clearly communicate how climate change is linked to the students’ own fields of study
- understand the students’ personal roles as influencers
The course is part of the CDIO-framework that is guiding the studies at Turku University of Applied Sciences as on the course the students learn more about the industry and networks, and the connections between different studies and the working life. Additionally, on the course the students will learn more about sustainable development.

Content

On this quest lecture series, you will learn more about climate change, how it can be prevented and how we can adapt to it. The quest lectures are given by companies, cities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Additionally, there will be some articles and other materials on the course and students will make a learning diary and some assignements based on the materials and the quest lectures.
