Objective
The course deepens your critical understanding of the impact of society, culture, and diversity on occupational participation to promote the health and well-being of individuals and communities and expands the perception of the growing role of occupational therapy.
After completing the course, students will be able to:
Critically evaluate the theories guiding the practices of ones’ own work community
Design and develop occupational therapy methods and services to promote participation, inclusion, agency and functional capacity of citizens in the community, using new theories and models of occupational therapy.
Develop evidence-based occupational therapy services in interdisciplinary collaboration with the client, the client’s close network, citizens, and other stakeholders.
Content
Theories, models, and concepts guiding occupational therapy practice and their implementation to the practice.
Collaboration with clients and communities to enable participation and inclusion in meaningful activities.
Developing and deepening one’s own area of occupational therapy.
Strengthening the theoretical foundation for one’s thesis.
