Objective

The student:

• Can work independently and as a member of a multi-professional team in midwifery
• Develops and deepens their expertise in the planning, implementation, recording and evaluation of midwifery in different operating environments
• Acts in accordance with the code of ethics for midwifery and complies with the applicable legislation
• Can follow aseptic requirements
• Knows the key contents and methods of pharmacotherapy related to midwifery and implements pharmacotherapy safely
• Students will deepen their guidance skills in sexual and reproductive health questions regarding the woman and her family.
• Masters the treatment and guidance in connection with a normal pregnancy
• Can identify high-risk pregnancies and refer a woman to further treatment if necessary
• Can monitor and treat pregnant women and foetuses in high-risk pregnancies
• Develops independently in treating low-risk childbirths at different stages of the childbirth process
• Can work as a midwifery expert in a high-risk childbirth care team
• Can immediately monitor and treat the new-born and, if necessary, initiate CPR
• Students will master the monitoring, guidance and care of women after childbirth.
• Students will master the care of healthy newborn babies.
• Can support a woman and her family in the development of early interaction and breastfeeding
• Can carry out intensive care of a new-born as part of a multi-professional care team
• Can carry out the treatment process for a gynaecological patient
• Masters the guidance of a gynaecological patient and family members
• Can support a woman and her family in managing a life cycle crisis
• Can document a woman’s and family’s nursing care reliably in different information systems
• Can operate in accordance with the principles of sustainable development in a care environment

Content

• Traineeship units as study units in accordance with EU/2005 directives
• Supervised midwifery internship in units carrying out nursing work for pregnant women, mothers giving/who have given birth, healthy new-borns, new-borns requiring intensive care or gynaecological patients
