Objective

After completing this course student can
-Understand the importance of responsible and ethical practices in the fashion industry.
-Identify various responsible and ethical labels and standards and their purpose.
Compare and evaluate different responsible and ethical labels and standards from consumer, reliability, and traceability perspectives.
-Analyze the implementation and monitoring of responsible and ethical practices in the fashion industry.
Discuss the impact of responsible and ethical practices on the reputation and success of fashion brands.

Content scheduling

The student understands the different certification systems related to sustainability (standards, ethical labels).
The student will be able to compare different certification schemes.
The student will be able to choose a certification scheme according to their approach to sustainability, taking into account business viability.
Understand how standards and ethical labels are monitored and what sanctions can be imposed for non-compliance.
Students can apply what they have learned in practice (written assignment).
