- creativity and the customer´s role in product development
- teamwork skills.
Program:
1. Course introduction: Course structure & content, schedule, briefing of reading circle.
2. Reading week (no lecture)
3. Return of book reflection and presentation of books
4. Lecture of customer orientation and different segments
5. Lecture of product development
6. Briefing of group work (presentation & report)
7. Independent group work (no lecture)
8. Group work
9. Presentations
10. Return of report (no lecture)

Tavoitteet

Opintojakson suoritettuaan opiskelija
- kykenee kehittämään kannattavia ja innovatiivisia ratkaisuja yhdessä asiakkaiden kanssa
- osaa soveltaa tuotteiden ja palveluiden erilaistamista kilpailukeinona
- kykenee soveltamaan tuotekehityksen prosessimalleja käytäntöön.

Objects for assessment:
-individual book reflection and peer evaluation, pass/fail
-group work presentation and report as well as the student´s activity during the lessons and in the group work will be graded as one entity on scale 0-5.

Hylätty (0)

The student has not reflected on his/her readings,
or he/she has not participated in the group work or written a report. The student has shown minimal activity in the course.

Arviointikriteerit, tyydyttävä (1-2)

The student:
- recognizes the role of product development in business operations
- indentifies product development processes
- understands the role of management of a product development project
-shows activity in the team work

Arviointikriteerit, hyvä (3-4)

The student is able to implement the previous points as well as the following:
- apply the product development process models in practice
- can develop profitable and innovative solutions according to the markets
-interacts actively with the customer in developing the product
-shows great teamwork skills and activity in the team

-manages to sell and report the outcomes of the product development project succesfully
