After completing the study unit the students will be able to:
- evaluate the meaning of different leadership theories and models regarding their own leadership identity and philosophy
- utilize systematic reflection and their own career story in order to clarify their values and goals
- communicate their leadership philosophy to different stakeholders
- apply self-management strategies to conscious and goal-oriented professional development
- build their own leadership identity in communication with their organization and professional network

- Meaning of cooperativeness and network in leadership

Objective
After completing the course, the student is able to:
evaluate different leadership theories and models and evaluate their relevance for their own work
use career stories and systematic and continuous reflection to clarify their professional values and goals
communicate their leadership philosophy to various stakeholders
apply self-leadership strategies for conscious and goal-oriented professional development
develop their leadership identity in collaboration with their work community and other professional networks.

Pedagogic approaches and sustainable development
Constructive method and flipped learning: problem-based and solution-oriented learning.
Theories and models, as well as personal views and experiences, are discussed in a collaborative way in face-to-face and online meetings using flipped learning and innovation pedagogy.
An integral part of the course is diversity management, which is part of responsible management.

My career story: pass/fail
The course grade is the weighted average of the numerically assessed assignments (individual learning diary and group assignment). The weightings for each assignment can be found in Itslearning.
Passing the course requires the satisfactory completion of all learning assignments.
The assessment criteria for each assignment can be found in Itslearning.
The use of AI varies between different learning assignments. The use of AI is instructed on an assignment-by-assignment basis in the course.
Failed (0)
Student has not returned all assignments and has not attended 50% of the teaching sessions (face-to-face or online) or has not successfully completed the assignments to make up for the absence.
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Successful completion of all assignments.
Based on the answers to the assignments, students will identify different leadership theories and models and be able to apply them to a limited extent to support their own professional development.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
On the basis of the answers to the assignments, students will be able to apply different leadership theories and models to develop their own leadership identity. Students will use reflection to clarify their own professional values and goals and use leadership theories and models to support this.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
On the basis of the answers, students will be able to assess the relevance of different leadership theories and models for the development of their own leadership identity. Students will use systematic reflection to clarify their own professional values and goals. In addition, students will apply leadership theories and models in an advanced way to support informed and goal-oriented professional development.
