Objective
The aim of positive pedagogy is to achieve positive development and learning in learners that take place through caring, appreciative, supportive and safe interaction. The starting point in positive pedagogy is that each student would find their own strengths, abilities and dare to go on to succeed in their life. The individual develops in connection with other people. The aim is to draw attention to the daily experiences encountered and verified in studying, through which the students' self-knowledge and social capital are built. The goal is to provide everyone with the help and guidance they need to identify their strengths. With positive pedagogy to give positive feedback and encouragement is also tried to achieve.
In addition, the goal with positive pedagogy is to learn to understand the importance of positive emotions and warm interaction for good learning. As the student learns to notice his or her own successes, positive experiences permanently change him or her to become stronger, and he or she will also find resources for failures. Positive pedagogy is also used to support a positive emotional atmosphere and to provide learners with tools for reinforcing interaction.
Regardless of the field or time, success is achieved through the strengths of the individual. Strength-focused teaching aims to have a longer-term impact on learning, which leads to a satisfying life more likely than just knowledge-focused teaching. The individual is strengthened by what he does much and weakened by what he does little. Any success is worth giving good and encouraging feedback!
