Objective

The objective of the course is that the student is familiar with basic concepts and theories of the social, cultural, political and economic environment in which sport and leisure operate.

Student is able to
- analyze the impacts of society to the story of sport and to the development of sport
- to understand the relevance of stakeholders in sport
- to adapt his/her activities to challenges of the future

Content scheduling

Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
• Understand the structure and functioning of sports organizations.
• Understand the role of a sports organization in society.
• Understand the importance of stakeholders (e.g., athletes, fans, sponsors, governmental organizations).
• Understand the competitive and market environment: competition in the sports market, spectator and fan markets.

- The content of the submitted assignments is inconsistent and lacks coherence.

- The content of the submitted assignments generally meets the task requirements.
- There is little to no irrelevant content in the assignments.
- Personal reflection on the topics is somewhat lacking or insufficient.
- The structure and language of the submitted assignments are clear and reader-friendly.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

- The submitted assignments meet the task requirements exceptionally well and demonstrate that the student has a strong grasp of the key content.
- The student has described the themes comprehensively and has used high-quality and relevant source material extensively.
- Reflections, justifications, critiques, personal views, and conclusions are presented in great detail, comprehensively, and coherently.
- The language is very clear and reader-friendly, and the structure of the submitted assignments is logical.
